Tri-C's Gallery West Announces Upcoming Exhibitions

Cuyahoga Community College Gallery West presents 2007-2008 Exhibition Schedule

Gallery West, the art gallery located at Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus, will present seven exhibitions this academic year, celebrating mediums ranging from paintings, prints and drawings to ceramics, and featuring artists Austin Bates, Amy Casey, Jon N. Cotterman, Scott Robertson, Natalie Lanese, Thu Tran, Chris Zahner, Stephanie Craig and Todd Leech.

New this year is the first in what is to become an annual series featuring works by recent Fine Arts graduates and other emerging artists titled, “The Emerging Artist Series.”

2007-2008 Gallery West Exhibition Schedule:

September 4 – September 27
Recent Works
Public reception: September 19, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Contemporary concepts and new works by: Austin Bates – jewelry/metals, Amy Casey – paintings, Jon N. Cotterman – glass, and Scott Robertson – prints and drawings.

October 1 – November 3
Wistful Thinking
Nostalgia, satire, wit and fantasy in the works of: Natalie Lanese – installation and collage, Thu Tran - sculptural installation, and Chris Zahner -drawings and paintings.

November 13 – December 8
Tri-C Faculty Exhibition
Recent works by the studio art faculty at Cuyahoga Community College.

January 22 - February 16
The Emerging Artist Series
The inaugural exhibit in what is to become an annual series featuring works by recent Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts graduates and other emerging artists.

February 25 - March 29,
Stephanie Craig and Todd Leech
Individual and collaborative ceramic and installation work.

April 7 - June 14
Tri-C West Annual Juried Student Art Show
Works in all media by Tri-C West students in the art and/or visual communication & design programs, juried by art professors teaching in local four-year institutions.

June 23 – July 26
Summer Show
A more informal show, highlighting the works of two or more Cuyahoga Community College art students and/or art faculty.

Gallery West offers five to seven exhibitions each year in an expansive, contemplative environment. The gallery’s focus is on contemporary work by professional local artists across diverse mediums, discovering conceptual connections among artists, fostering the relationship between artist and community, and hosting an annual juried show.

The gallery is located on the second floor of the Campus Library, in the Student Services Center, at Tri-C’s Western Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Road, Parma. Gallery hours are Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Gallery is closed Sundays, holidays, and during academic breaks.
